I think he meant 4.8is exhaust sounds different on 4.8is than on 3.0 or 4.4. I have the clips. Will only post if its ok with mrbmwx5, but not in this thread.

If he likes it, that all it matters. Eyeryone should enjoy their mods. Peace.

Tom, Do you have the x-pipe/resonator-out too?

Okay dude...i understood your argument until the above steering, straight line & looks comment. Perhaps it didn't meet your demands and you had an unsatisfactory experience with your short lived 4.6iS but i've experienced otherwise. We sold our 3.0 sport not too long ago...the Mrs enjoyed it indeed but even she got hooked to the feel of the 4.6iS. The two don't even belong in the same sentence aside from the trim aesthetics.

The 4.6iS' steering may not be as refined as the 4.8iS but i would take a vehicle-speed sensing rack-and-pinion steering over an engine- speed sensing steering any day & night.

*Back to topic: Tom's X looks incredible as i got the privilege to see it in person at the last Tri-State meet. IMO, if it's badged as something it isn't then i can understand the debate. However, it's a well modded X5 with OEM trim and functional upgrades. It's not as if his mods are exclusive to the "iS" models.

E53is, i don't believe mrbmwx5 asked for opinions, he simply posted to share another of his many mods, which in turn and as usual, will inspire others. He wasn't soliciting feedback...If you don't like what you see, simply move on.

perhaps a reckless comment and I apologize. I'm still on the fence about the two and am having a hard time justifying the 4.6 beyond looks, particularly for me being the suede interior which I fell in love with. for day to day use I'm having a hard time finding the strong points of the 4/6.

also sorry for the thread hijack, I just wanted to stick up for the little 3.0 because I do love it.

Tom,
As usual, very well done. Love that note and the rasp. Might get me a pair of them one day.
Any chance of hearing it pulling away under load ??
