Tint over Privacy Glass? What %?

I want to get my windows tinted on my 04 X5 and wanted to see some pics of what tint percentage would look good.

I know the rears are already tinted with the factory privacy glass. I dont think its dark enough and would like to see some pics of what other guys have done.

Can you guys post your tint jobs and what percentage they are.

Just to let you know, the legality of tints in NY are at most 30% for your front windows. And also, if you do a search on google, you can find the difference between 35%, 20%, and 5%

The link below allows you to compare 5, 20, 35 and 50% tint by scrolling over the numbers. I think it's pretty accurate in terms of looks.

Top of the line tint, New Jersey's finest glass tinting shop - Professional Automotive Tinting

5% is basically limo tint, if that's what you're looking for. I did 20% for rear sides and hatch, and 35% for the front sides. Best option would have been 20 all-around, but I did not want problems with the cops. FWIW, the 35 on the fronts transitions nicely to the 20 in the rears. It does not have the harsh contrast of 20% on the back with no tints on the front, like you see in some vehicles. I'll post pics later.

you could so 20% front, 35% rears (over factory tint). this should leave rears darker than fronts, but it should be close to where you might not tell a difference.

or to truely match, you can do limo all over the place, where any difference would be unnoticable

Exactly right. That's what I was trying to say above, but you said it simpler!

I was going to do 13% front and 20% rears... would this give me a more even look?

Since the rear is already kind of tinted from the factory I want them to match.
