Help Please ...this is an emergency (low level)

I am sorry to report I was stupid and careless again when I locked my keys inside my x5 while getting readyo to leave the girlfriends this morning. This happened twice before but this time I haven't the time to await key delivery and I pray not to break the window again. Please help and tell me how ot do it without damage through the cargo area or rear hatch/tailgate? I have asked the mods, but they all have jobs too and haven't responded I haven't my tool bag neither, so PM me or call 361-522-3844.

Mark

I think you need to get a spare key and keep it in a secrect box on your X, weird that the only post you know how to make are because you locked your keys inside.... looks like you will have to break another window.... or just go to BMW and have a key made.

Not to joke on a serious topic... but, that is just ironic.

Do yourself a favor: get the plastic temporary key, wrap it in Saran Wrap,
stuff it in one of those matchbox sized magnetic key boxes, and tuck it
up under your car. Place it out of the windstream and rain stream,
on a horizontal surface, that you can just reach...

It will prevent any future lock out(s), and the bad guys will never find it.

Can't you get a locksmith to pop the lock? Probably cheaper than the smash and grab

How do you lock your keys in the car in the X5? I've never understood how that is possible....... You have to have to key to lock it in the first place.

The only way I know how is if you lock the car, pop the trunk, sit your keys on the trunk floor and then close the trunk.

Otherwise, just getting in and out of the car I don't think its doable.

You would be surprised at the way people accomplished it.
Imagine leaving the key in the ignition and a dog stepping
on the Lock/unlock button. Yep, that actually happened.

There are others but you get the idea but yes "keys on the
trunk floor and then close the trunk is the most popular.

If you had a wedge and a long flexible rod you could hit the central locking button on the center console then pull the handle twice with the rod (from the inside)
