Suspension on E53 X5 3.0i

Just have a quick question on the suspension system on the x5. How do u know if you have air suspension or not? And if you don't, then which springs would you recommend the H&R sport ones or the Eibach pro-kit ones?

It is my understanding that if you have the sport package, then you have the self-leveling system.

You should also have an air pump on top of your spare tire.

Ok thank you, I guess I dont have it then, what lowering springs do you recommend? And how much do you think a mechanic would charge to put them on?

I am a home mechanic i charge ppl $ 500 to do this job,at the indy shop they may go from $500-$800.
BTW look thru your rear wheel if you see the spring that mean you dont have air suspension

I'll check next time I go out. How much do you think you can get those springs for?

the eibach, h&r will run you about $300 and it only lower the car by 1.2" . I went with b&g springs for $250 and it lower by 2" and i loving it.

Prolly $100-$150 bucks, front is easy, the rear is a little more difficult, but doable if you are mechanically inclined

OK question - I know I don't have a sport package and there is no pump located above my spare, but I have noticed something that looks like an air bag behind the rear wheels - I want to say it is between the frame and the body. Anyone know what this is??
