Wanting to upgrade my fod lights to HID. Any Issues

I have the ones from DDM and had them on my last car as well. No issues so far.

Do you have to have factory HIDs to begin with? My X5 has just a standard bulb. Don't you need an HID housing to have the correct light cut off (so it's not just a big undirected wall of light)? I have DDMs HIDs in my e36, but it replaced the entire headlight housing and all.

update: I called them and they said that the kit comes with a bulb replacement which goes in the factory bulb location, then you just hook up the rest of the kit to it. Sounds very simple. Anyone have any experience with this? Pictures would be great.

You will need the projectors if your going to run HID's . Don't just put them in non Xenon headlight housings.
