Navigation Update?

Is there a newer version of the navigation system that is on my '04 X5? The navigation i difficult and inconvenient to use. I was wondering if there are any updates or newer operating systems that I could change to...or is my Navi too old?

The upgrades that are available to you won't change how you interact with the system unfortunately, so if you find it difficult and inconvenient to use now, it will remain that way after you get up to the newest software version.

If you don't like using your navi, I would recommend buying a Garmin or something like that to mount to your dash and use that, or if you want to get brave, remove your stock navi and put in an aftermarket one.

I went the Garmin route and it is indeed so much better in every respect. This way you can still use BMW's computer functions and with a bluetooth unit you are covered there, too.

I just attach mine when going on a difficult trip. No reason to leave it in all the time and clutter things up.
