Spark Plugs

Do you guys replace them with OEM or are there some after market plugs I should be buying? I'm almost at 100k and i'm thinking some new plugs are in order.

What say you?!

I normally have the stealer change out the brake fluid everry two years, but he spark plugs are easy to do. I use the NGK BKR6EQUP plugs for both of my Bimmers. The dealer sells them for over $26.00, but you can get them from Advance Auto (under NGK part number 3199) for $6.99. The plugs are exactly the same.

Can someone confirm this? It sounds absolutely correct but I don't know. I knew the BMW plugs were NGK's but i didn't know anyone else carried them.
Thanks for the tip. $7 vs $26 sounds amazing but a new motor at $20k i would like to confirm.

Also what should the gap be set to? 3.0i 2002 x5.

Yes, that is accurate information. I just got done replacing mine with ones from AA. They are a carbon copy minus the "BMW".

I am pretty sure that Bosch is the OEM plug. However, BMW has a recommended NGK plug and Bosch plug. The Bosch # is FGR7DQP.
