i haven't been in here for a long time. Now that I have noticed somethig just wanna share. When i Parked my i noticed the small dot light at the base of shift stick lite on for ever........is that normal ? the reason i noticed this because my battery kind of running out. thanks |

Turn the x5 off and leave it off for, If I remember correctly, 15 minutes. It should then enter a "sleep" mode causing the light to turn off.

This is normal. it does stay on.

It's normal for it to stay on for a short period of time but it'll eventually shut off.

I was worried about another electrical glitch when I spotted that litle lamp on the stick glowing proudly. I wasn't convinced it was normal despite it going out after 15 mins, because I couldn't understand the logic of it being on. Does anyone else know why? What purpose does it serve?

The light stays on for approx. 15 Min. It then checks for a current drain of less than 35 mA. and the computer goes into stand-by.
If it stays on, you have still something consuming power. |

some x5's shifter lights continue to illuminate even after the vehicle sends the go to sleep command. dont confuse this as an error.
