stereo only works when dark

guys as per title thread, my stereo work intermitendly all day long, it comes on for 2 sec then off for about a minute then on for 2 sec then off for a minute, allday!!! but when it gets to the evening and the sun goes down the stereo works, its stuck on radio and the controls do not work.

i have disconected the actual stereo and controls in the dash board but the fault stays the same as above, also when the stereo is conected behind the dash none of the buttons work atall so i have no control over the stereo atall.

what is up with it?
