Finally bought my dream car!

Im new to this forum but have been part of many other's with my Infiniti and Hummer. This forum by FAR has been one of the best I have been a member of. People acctually compliment other and help them out rather then become a forum thug and try to trash other's. Anyways with that being said thank you all for providing a great forum with infinite amounts of information.

I always dreamed about having a BMW X5 4.8is but could never bring myself to spend the $65-70 grand to buy one. I went out and traded in my wife's MDX for a ML350 last week which was a beautiful SUV. When I went back to the dealer to fill out some other paper work from the corner of my eye I cought a glance at the love of my life. An 05 BMW X5 4.8is. Without hesitation I told the sales man I trading in the mercedes and taking that home today. He thought I was joking but here I am a week later with my new truck or well new to me. It was worth every penny the thing is a beast!

Now to my issues! The SAV has been in service since I had it already for a few issues. The breaks started squeeling which ended up being a boot was leaking and grease was getting onto the disc's causing the noise. So that was replaced. Then the break light and some other small issues. Now It is going in again because the car when parked is leaning on one side more then then other when it drops. From reading on here I believe the issue is the air is leaking on one side. Thanks again to everyone on here for the info so I knew this was an issue. Now my second issue is I been trying for the life of me to try and update my nav OS as I have 4 1/30 and I would like to update to the new one. BUT, I have a mac and tryed a million times and still cant get it to work. If someone has a spare update disc available please let me know and I will work something out with you.

LOL, My wife is not allowed anywhere near this thing then again she can care less about this SAV. She says it looks like everyother car what's so special about it. This picture was acctually taken by the dealer to place the car on the website and I had them fwd it to me.

I'm confused--you said you traded in her MDX for it but now she's not allowed to drive it ?? That's harsh to make her take the bus everywhere.

Well let me rephrase that. She drove the MDX I pay for it. She's not suffering though. Im driving a 2005 BMW while she gets to switch between a Hummer and an G37S. So she isin't really complaining. She just does not understand why I go so insane over this car whenever I see it on the road. I would chase it down and open my windows just to hear it growl.

Your wife sounds like my wife.

Congrats on the purchase, she's a beaut! This site has so much information and any problems that come about with my X5, this is the first place I check.

Ya - mine has been saying the same thing - and she is really wondering why I couldn't just find one here locally. I tried to explain that maybe a couple thousand were made which means maybe a few hundred in Estoril blue, so how am I going to find one? So I got it from someone in IN almost all the way across the country. It was worth it to me. She did drive it this weekend while I was playing around at the lake with the guys and did mention she noticed it is kinda fast
