you are right, vibration does not help
cold temps kill the battery, so if you experience "winter" with sub-freezing temps, the battery usually dies in about 5+yrs - I know, I know..., some of you are going to tell of 6,7,8yrs, but I'm talking normally there is a reason 'good' batteries are only warranteed to 5yrs (I replace mine every 5yrs) most places (here in the USA) where batteries are sold, will check your charging system (solenoid, cables, battery charge) for a modest fee or for free lots of starts'n'stops without traveling far will drain the battery due to not enough time for the alternator to recharge the battery if the engine is slow to crank, or has a hesitation in starting up, that may be an indcator your battery is losing it's charge - if so, drive directly to a battery place and have it checked out, as the next time it may not start - batteries do not give you alot of warning
