White 4.6iS?

BMW : X5: eBay Motors (item 320546528246 end time Jun-20-10 13:19:01 PDT)

Check it out. I ran the VIN in carfax and the VIN decoder and it is a real 4.6, though beaten. Can anyone verify that this was Alpine White from the factory?

looks real, but interesting that the trim is all body colored and painted, when it is normally black plastic. Is that factory???

I don't think anything about that X is factory as far as the paint is concerned. The body colored fenders, sideskirts and bumpers (other than typical aero kit) are not factory. I don't think I have never seen a white 4.6is.

What a POS. Beaten is an understatement. The white trim was done after and not well as you can see some has peeled off and some looks scraped off. The Alpine White is more than likely a respray given the rest of the stuff done to that X. The wheels are wrong too. Those are the newer 19" wheels, not the proper 20" the 4.6is came with. I wouldn't be surprised if that has a salvage title.

I know that the plastic is not supposed to be painted, just like on my 4.6, but the fact that the door tag looks like it was stuck on post-paint makes me wonder if it was a special order.
