LR3 vs. X5

I thought you guys could use a laugh.

http://www.landroverusa.com/us/en/Ve..._BMW_%20X5.htm

It's such an unbiased comparison.

Is the "complimentary scheduled maintainence" no longer routine for 2006 X5 3.0? That LR site said it was for LR, but not for BMW.

They (Land Rover) want the customer to believe it is a gift when in actuality, they (the customer) are paying for it.

I looked at the BMW site, and answered my own question. It is still included in the purchase price.

I hate lying.

Not only do they point out the ADVANTAGE the LR3 has, but they also try and rub it in the face of BMW by stating things like, "BMW X5 doesn´t offer third-row seating", " X5´s cargo area is smallest in its class".

I wonder if anyone at BMW is playing the conflict of interest card.

Too bad the LR3 is so damn ugly. What is up with the vent being only on one fender?

That page was probably put together by the idiots at Ford. btw, has anyone looked their earnings report lately? Third quarter loss of $326 million. I am positive that the demise of the Big 3 has started. Well, it started in the mid 90s, but its getting pretty bad. Ford is supposedly on the verge of closing down two big plants and is begging the UAW for some breaks like it gave GM, not to mention other benefits it's already cutting.

I said conflict of interest because I thought BMW had some form of interest in RR. Wrong?

BMW bought, and then sold, LR a couple years ago. LR now owned by Ford.

Interestingly, the LR3 was designed when BMW owned the company, and BMW has agreed to sell engines and other components to LR/Ford for the duration of that model.

So, in a way, you were right. BMW designed it and is a vendor for parts.

Actually all engines are now ford's, or to be precise Jaguar's. LR had so many problems, that BMW didn't know what to do with it... They did keep the Mini brand which was part of the Rover group and sold the rest.
