Is there a "Low Coolant" Warning light?

Just found out every a week or so, the coolant level in the reservoir (backup reservoir?) will drop below min, then I have to add some to top off.

So is there a low coolant warning light on the dash that tells you the coolant is low? If yes, why I've never seen this light on before?!

Thanks!

Lei

The light is not working for 2000-2002 3.0i with LOW TECH cluster.
You can see the plug underneath the reservoir tank is not connecting to the cluster.

Thanks, Tom!

Then what should I do, backup a bottle of coolant in the trunk?

My question is, is that the only reservoir 01 3.0i has? If yes, how could it maintain steady temp while the coolant is almost drained out? Is it possible the fan is working so hard to compensate the coolant loss?

Thanks for the quick reply, Tom~!

Yes on the early years, the indicator for low coolant will be a temp gauge needle going into the red.

In addition to the things they said to check, make sure you pay attention to the coolant sensor in the lower hose coming off the radiator on the passenger side. That thing tends to leak. Faz just did a writeup on it, and you can see his pics for reference on what to look for as far as that goes. The other main thing I would look at is the expansion tank.

I doubt you will be seeing hot ambient temps much more in Lynchburg, so as long as you keep it topped off you should be able to drive for a while before you find the leak.
