Is there anyway to open 2004 headlights

Like an idiot I got rid of the headlights with the yellow corners for my 2001 X5 and swapped them with a new set from an 04 - production date on lights if 6/04 - Is there anyway to open these up aside from a sledge hammer

A sledge hammer works fine or this ,
but if your'e real handy perhaps dremel off the clear lens and glue/seal them back after you're done other than that.... I don't know of a chemical that would (without melting the lens) soften that glue. If some one here has a damaged headlight from an accident and would get a samlple from the glue to take it to a chemistry lab to figure out what it is made of, then it would give us the answer and that person would forever be glorified with his/her framed portrait with a blue ribbon hanging on my garage wall.

I will replace another headlights for my X in the future. I will use saw to cut the old headlight lens and trying to seal it back with special clue. There is nothing that you can't try and make it works.

If anyone has a spare set or damaged light they can sell or send to me, I'd be willing to try. I have opened up many "impossible to open" lights recently with a special method.

I am against any form of cutting when it comes to headlights though, we have gotten away with cutting tail lamps, but they are setup differently.
