BMW actually designs mild understeer into the regular production vehicles through the suspension setup, and does it because it is 10 times easier to control for the average driver than oversteer. The M series of any car is more neutrally balanced for the above average driver to throw it around easily, including the X5M and X6M. They get a more rear bias through the drivetrain for more drifting/less understeer as part of the M package.

i used to love Cayenne S finely i bought it in summer 2008 and it was year 2005 white with tan 41K kms loaded with V8 4.5L and i had my X not the 4.8is but 4.4i, Cayenne looks great but it ride like tractor and it sound like one i kept it for 4 months and i took 7k pill sold the thing and start looking for 4.8is LeMans Blue and i m happy with my x looking forward to X5///M. (don't hate me cus i don't like Cayenne thats what i felt while i had it, may be it was just me everybody is different and like different things)
