Richirich and The X Update

WOW - This past summer has just blown by. it seems like yesterday we were gathering in Stamford for the TriState X5 Meet.

So here is an update -

Much of June and July was spent preparing for the wedding. Modifications on the X5 this summer were few and far between. I did the interior LED Upgrade which is rather cool and did a claybar detail etc...

I did run into the whole ABS/Brake/DSC problem as well.. So i switched out my rear wheel speed sensors and guess what - all the codes along with SES and Engine failsafe did not go away.... coincdently Tom(mrbmwx5) was going through the same problem. (it seems whenever one of us has a problem so does the other..) It must be that CT MI connection..LOL!

So...the solution... Weasel is as usual right on the money. My ABS Module shit the bed....but wait have no fear.... you donot have to go to BMW for a new one _+ labor leave it to me and Tom to figure this out.. we saved about 1800.00 bucks on this DIY.... sort of DIY.....

There are a few of these places around but I chose BBA Reman since they were right up here in the Northe east... BBA reman. ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, and catalytic converters

They give you directions on how to very very carefully pull out your abs module - pack it - and ship it. You can still drive without it...just no abs....power brakes still work...just go slow and steady.. I had the module back with in a week and all codes and lights gone....no more christmas tree lights on my instrument cluster. Here is the kicker the cost was 240.00 all said and done. ....and so far so good. I hope this helps some of you with that ABS/DSC/Brake lights on your cluster.

........so we move on.... Nicole and I got married on Aug 7th... A beutiful day with great people awesome food and a wonderful venue... the night pretty much went like this.....

I'm looking forward to the fall X5meet this month. All mods are on hold for now... as I am saving for an X5M.... (someday)!!

Good to be back here on the forum...

Rich
