JVC KW-NX7000BT (In Dash- Navigation?)

What do you guys think of this navi for the X5? I can get it at a very cheap price and I can have it installed with a bazel (Radio Kit) and all for $125 USD.

The navigation seems to have all the features one would want, main thing that catches my eye is the screen size, its 7inch which fits the X perfectly

Only down side I see so far is that I am told by some that when they installed the navigation to the car they lose speaker quality in sound.... Is that true?

I can't say I have experience with the Nav unit, but I installed the Alpine w505. As far as the sound quality, it totally depends on 1)the aftermarket unit and 2)the installer's knowledge of setting up the outputs to communicate with the BMW amps/system.
With that said...you get what you pay for. A nav unit at $125 installed is simply unheard of, and I can only guess you will not be happy with it beyond the fact that you have a 7" display. One thing that always baffled me about some mods I see to certain vehicles is that someone spends 20, 30, 40 grand on a car, then skimps on the mods.
I guess my best advice would be to do your research a little more with a few different install shops, so that you better understand what you will be getting before you decide to go ahead with this.

2-1-2.... that's quite a deal for $125 then, cause they overcharge for everything.... good quality work though.

EDIT: Sorry, I was misled by Bauer's post You are only paying $125 for installation. Those units retail for $1,200 (which I'm assuming you'll pay less for).

You're right that it should fit in your X5 though. These two models are supposed to be compatible: JVC Mobile Entertainment \ ProductLine Navigation

Yeah its just $125 for installation lol, If it were all together id been taken the week off lol

I got a great deal because 2-1-2 are awesome here in Brooklyn there one of the best installation guys there can be. I got the nice deal because I am close friends with the owner, I just hope the navi is going to make things nice. As long as the installation is okay are the speakers going to sound the same?

I have herd some cases where the speaker system sounds like trash after an installation set up :/

i wonder if the OEM GPS antenna and feeder would fit this after market unit or you have to install everything from scratch... also to consider the SWC adapters ...

I apologize, I misunderstood your price in your OP.
I did not notice any change in my speakers after the install. I know they purchased a bunch of adapters / pigtails to retain the stock functions throughout the car/steering wheel/amps/speakers. If you are going to a good shop, like you have mentioned, you should not notice any difference.

I installed an avic-z110bt pioneer nav system in my 03 X that did not have DSP but with nav. I was able to purchase a radio harness from ebay to connect to the OEM tuner harness which had the power and and the speaker wires. I did not use the speaker wires since I used aftermarket amps. I think if you ran the speaker wires to this harness then it should be fine since this wire goes to the amp. The amp i believe has the 4 channels in and 10 channles out with built in crossovers for each speaker.

Thats a really good deal for installation and good luck. The hardest part of this install is running the wires to the back. There are too many wires to run by the door sill so I ran them through the middle of the car via the center console.

Hers was my install thread http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...tall-pics.html

WHile the are running wires you should ask them to run 4 or 6 RCA wires to the rear in the event you want to add aftermarket amp and speakers. In addition another RCA wire for a reverse camera.

You can place the GPS antenna in the dash. I have both my XM and GPS antenna in there with no problems.

Thanks for the great replies

to be honest with you,fe342185, You're the reason I wanted the Navigation so bad. I always wanted one but when I saw how amazing your X looks, I was completely in love with the idea of the navi. I decided to get one done and now I also ordered the 2 Headrest DVD Players off of the other post on the board. They tend to look friggen amazing! =D

Thanks! Ill try and get pics as soon as I have the chance to get all this done.
