Titanium Grill Facelift

Well I saw a face lifted X5 today looked like a V8 and I loved how nice the titanium grills looked. I have a 04 X5 and I really want the titanium look, anyway I contacted my dealer and he quoted me an absolutely ridiculous price.

Has anyone purchased from goodstuffs4u0904 on ebay before here is his listing:REAL OEM LOOK 04 05 06 BMW E53 X5 TITANIUM CHROME GRILL:eBay Motors (item 310170442067 end time Oct-24-09 17:14:52 PDT)

Does anyone have some OEM titanium grills that they want to part with

Go OEM. Pretty easy to remove/install. I picked up my titanium grilles from this place... getBMWparts.com powered by Tischer BMW - Your #1 Source for all OEM BMW Parts/Accessories!

Good luck,

Ouch looks like a $170 for both which is still a far cry from the $560 dealer quote.

So no recommendations for the eBay grills? I guess it's either go OEM or go home

BTW Daniel I have the same color as you the grills look fantastic. Do you get pulled over for the front license plate?

No license plate is required for the state of Oklahoma. Trust me, go OEM. I normally get my BMW parts online from the link above. I'd rather pay a little bit more now and have a product that has a 2 year parts warranty. A little off-topic, but I purchased a ///M sport wheel from the link above a little over a year and a half ago. Last month, the steering wheel trim started peeling. Called dealer and advised me to go to my local BMW center. They had the part in stock and due to the fact I installed the wheel myself, they let me take the part home, swap it out, and brought the defective part in the next day no questions asked. Something to think about.

Daniel

Not long after I did the swap to OEM titanium grilles, I found someone on the forum who wanted the black ones !!! we could have done a swap, My suggestion is to put a post on the site for anyone wanting to swap black for titaium, you never know. Some people prefer the black cos they think it looks more sporty,

$560 for titanium grill? What??? you can paint your current grill. I bought EOM for $65 off ebay while ago.

On my wife's 328i, I replaced the front grills with the one from 335 which has chrome on the front edge of each grill. I bought the grills from the local dealer at about $35-40 a piece. Can't imagine X5's grill be that much more expensive?

For what it is worth, I like the black grill and if I were to look at replacing it with another color, I would just paint it. The black grill, once you take it off, is pretty much useless (the 328's sits on a shelf in the garage), so you might as well try painting your existing grills first. Worst case scenario, you can paint it black again.
