Potential Purchase: 06 BMW X5 3.0i

New member/poster considering purchase of 06 X5 w/53k miles. Navigation, bluetooth, BMW assist. Premium package with xenon headlamps, premium leather, cold weather pkg, etc. Purchasing from private party - what questions should I ask of owner (he is 2nd owner, bought off lease last year)? What other considerations should I make with respect to maintenance, ownership? Owned an 86 318i when I turned 16, and haven't owned a bimmer since. Will be giving up my 01 Toyota Highlander that I did nothing on but oil changes and tune-ups every 30k miles - it has 126k and this X5 caught my eye. Any input/advice is much appreciated!

Hello WiBimmer, Welcome to the X5 Family

Of course as you do with any car your about to purchase, check the carfax records behind it. If you dont have a carfax, simply give me the Vin # and ill show you the car fax report

Another thing is, of course you must drive it, make sure it feels right. Drive it like your stealing it, make sure the transmission is changing gears smoothly. as long as normal maintenance was done on the car with no accidents I am sure it should be fine.

Cheers and Goodluck!

I am sorry for getting it all messed up with the print screening, I was trying to get every detail into it.

If you really like the car (also check out the new version of the x5), pay a good BMW independent to do a prepurchase inspection incl checking the frame and body panels for accident repairs. Pull the engine codes as well.
