Maybe iam crazy but iam thinking of fitting a head up display for my x5. I saw it in my little brother car 645ci . i been checking in the net and the srap yards for that unit . If any one knows where I can get it ill, be thankful |

I think it is a cool idea. I dont know how practical it would be. I suspect it would cost lots of money to retrofit.

even if you get a HUD installed in the dash, it requires a windshield that will proberly reflect the information which isn't easy. GM figured it out and did it right, my Z06 has one and i wish my X had it too.

that's the headunit i used on my M roadster. it requires you to tap into the speed sensor wire, tachometer wire, +12v, switched 12v, ground, and illumination wire, all accessible in the 3 connectors to the DASH/speedometer display console. if you should go this route, i can look up the wires for you to tap.. http://www.defi-shop.com/product/vsd/vsd_top.html |

yep. on my m roadster. you place a special (reflective) piece of tint where you want the unit to project/reflect.. comes w/ defi unit
