Well I had this horrid squeak that sounds like your description and I replaced what is called in realoem the "wisbone" and it went away. It took me 1 year to find what the hell was causing the squeak. My squeak was on the rear drivers side. Once I replace the control arm it was nice and quiet and then I got it on the rear passengers side!!!
The squeak was also temperamental but got worse with time to the point just getting out of the car made that damn noise. I have a 2001 4.4i the part number for the left and right wishbones for my car were: 3332677085933326770860 Squeeks are tricky its hard to say what it could be but these might be a part that is suspect for you to investigate. The parts arent cheap dealer price was about $200 then when my passengerside went I tried ebay and I found one for $80. hope this helps and good luck! -stephX5 |
