Hi! New member... =)

Hello, xoutpost!

I've been lurking here for a VERY long time. (Probably since January?) I got my 2005 E53 X5 3.0i on the last day of February. You know, your plain-Jane variety; nothing special. I bought it with 41K mi on the clock, $24K CPO. (AMAZING, I know!) I've put 10K miles since then, mostly because I commute 80 miles a day to and from my co-op job. I have to say, it's so much fun to drive; even much more so than my dad's '07 Q7 3.6!

Speaking of co-op, I was initially going to use the money I made from co-op to get the aero kit and some OEM wheels. But two powerful typhoons hit my parents' homeland (the Philippines), and so now my money's going to rebuild my grandmother's home, as well as my aunt's home, so the mods are going to have to wait. As you'll see, my car has some bruises... I don't think they detract any from its beauty.

Still, in the future I'd like to get a nice exhaust kit, some nice 20" OEM wheels, and the aero kit. Maybe I'll lower it a bit too; I don't like the body lean when I'm on on-ramps. I'd also like to convert the headlamps to HID, and maybe change the steering wheel to an M-sport. This is all wishful thinking, of course; I won't be out of school for another 3-4 years.

Without further ado...

A Big Welcome from Down Under,
Sounds and looks like a good purchase. Shame you didn't put it on the vendor to repair the rear left guard & bumper (I would've), unless you did it yourself and in that case, go to your room straight away

Tons of info and pics here to help you (and us) on the X5 journey. Their's a few mods you could get cracking on without outlaying much at all, like polishing the stock tips and change over interior bulbs to LED's.

I like your 'To do' list, however make sure you're sitting down when you get the quote for the aero kit. You might want to run with the 4.8is f & r spoilers and guard flares in lieu.

Happy and safe motoring to you and family.

If you haven't checked it out already maybe take a look at this: *** The Official X5 Pinoy Thread ***

See you on the board

Foomph

Thanks everyone! So welcoming... :-)

Foomph... I did it. Well, it's a long story involving a really cramped car garage and a friend who can't discern a scratching sound from the "sound of the transmission" as he put it. -_- There's a dent on my right front quarter panel too.. but I didn't do anything. I parked in a mall parking lot, watched a movie, and when I got out... the dent was there, along with a whole bunch of soda spilled over my passenger side window, quarter panel, and door. WTF? This is why, instead of getting it repaired, I was thinking of just changing it to aero kit or the 4.8is kit.

This car IS a lot of fun... when you're high in the rev range. Sometimes I wish I opted for the V8, but it's nice to know I bought the cheapest CPO X5 in the area at the time. 6 cogs would've been nice too... Everyday, when I'm on the highway going to my co-op job, it's doing 3K rpm in 5th gear, and I see my fuel gauge go down, down, down, down, down.

Speaking of co-op... I'm late! Darned xoutpost... LOL!
