Rear Bumper Alignment After Being Rear Ended
Picture: ![]() The bumper was repainted by a BMW certified repair shop in town. However there is a noticeable gap where the bumper meets the body of the vehicle. When level to the bumper you can see through the gap, its not immediately noticeable but it bothers me as I remember there being no gap ![]() The pictures are terrible but the gap is about noticeable. Do I have the live with it? What are my options?

i actually have the same problem, my 06' x5 is still under factory warranty however they quoted me wayy to much. Instead i went to an indie shop and if you remove the trailer hitch cover you might be able to see two silver bracket like things holding the bumper up. one of the brackets were bent and essentially holding up the bumper lower and they quoted me in total $150 to bend back the bumper and the brackets and $350 to paint....i actually havent gotten it done yet not due to the prices but just because i've been needing my car.

Do you think I should take it back to the body shop and see if they can align it?
I can almost squeeze my pinky finger in between the gap, I remember before it all looked like one piece ![]() EDIT:Explicitdwk were you rear ended? It seems that this only occurs when the bumper has been hit. |
