If I could afford it, I'd go for the 4.8. Reason only being performance:-) Don't think the interior is an issue, got the nappa leather in my 4.4.

I looked at a Titanium/Black 4.8is, but ended up ordering a 4.4i sport with 19" wheels and all the options that come with the 4.8is. The 4.8is was very tempting because it was immediately available and came with a great price. I just wanted a different color exterior and interior. However I have to admit, I loved the power and response of the 4.8is with it's 0-60 in 5.9s and on some days wish I would have bought one, but I'm really happy with the 4.4i sport.

My impressions: I found that the throttle response on the 4.8is is quicker than the 4.4i; the 4.8is only take a slight push on the throttle to get going fast, where the 4.4i is designed to respond to a big push on the throttle and a gear kickdown to achieve the same affect. Brakes are much stronger on the 4.8is. Ride and handling are so close that I couldn't tell the difference. I think the 20" wheels on the 4.8is with the titanium paint is one of the best combinations on an X5 IMHO.

Didn't have a problem ordering nappa. Can't remember how much it cost but I know it didn't come cheap.

Ok, just checked the specs on the leather. The exact name of the leather I have is "Exclusive Walknappa". It cost me 13,456 PLN which is approx. 4,000USD. Unless there is some other kind of leather called nappa, I apologize for my mistake

Attached some pics here but for higher def. pics, go to http://www.cardomain.com/ride/836760
