Front tires need replacements, back good....

I need to replace my front tires and I currently have Bridgestone Turanzas all the way around. Should I stick with the Bridgestones since I'm only replacing two and not all four, or should I replace the front two now with a different brand and plan and "matching" all four up when I replace the rears (probably next year).

rotate backs to front if and only if they pass all proper thread tests and then get exact ones for the rear, its never really good to mis-match tires, for numerous reasons (proper thread wear, gas mileage, alignment etc.) good luck

exactly, just rotate properly, though you never told us any details...

I wouldn't worry too much about the threads though, it is hard to check them when they are encased in the rubber. just check the tread and go from there.

looking at the calendar and that you are in CA, consider winter tire setup, esp if you visit the mountains. where you are from you should have them anyway, then you can run your summer rubber longer...

Ah...sorry guys, forgot a key piece of information. I've got a 2006 4.4 with the sport package (19" wheels). The front and rear tires are different sizes

Front: 255/50/19 up front
Rear: 275/45/19 in the back (Not sure if they're 275, or smaller, either way different size)

I've got a 2006 Mountaineer for the snow, so no worries on the Bridgestone summer tires. Though next time around I may opt for a more winter friendly tire.

I went ahead an ordered the Bridgestone Turanzas. I found them $616 installed.
