Changed My Metal to Metal Brakes (Pictures)

For about a week and a half i've been driving on some Metal to Metal brake pads. Whenever i would tap the brake it would start to shake and make loud squweeky nosies. Little nosies like that make me go crazy. So i had a choice of buying expentive OEM front brake pads from BMW Of Manhatten for well over $200. Then i had another choice to go with Hawk HPS front and back brake pads for like $100 - $150. My brother offered to pay for them so then i took advantage and went with OEM BMW brakes. i changed the rear brakes about 3 months ago.

Yeah...yikes

If they were that bad you really should have thrown some new rotors on there.

By the way, the photo of the box says e39 535 as one of the fitments. Since when did BMW make an e39 535?

Just a heads up, BMW rotors are on the thin side to begin with for weight savings. Typically places won't turn them after you have driven enough to go through a set of pads because they will either be to thin at that point, or won't be in-spec for the duration of the new pads life. Therefore, it is good practice to change the rotors when you change pads. If you were having metal to metal contact, that is even more reason to change out the rotors. Do your rotors have grooves on them from the metal on metal contact?
