I changed my 5 year old battery today(which appeared to be done). Checked the old one and its still showing 90% charge. Go figure.

Last time I was at Walmart in the U.S. they sold them for 80 bucks. Here in Canada the same one is 115 dollars. All I remember was that the battery was an Energizer, model was a 108 ** (can't remember the last 2 digits), and had 750 cca. Looked identical to my stock unit and those in the pics above. Great warranty too.

I too replace with non-oem battery but the oem bracket does not work on the battery now. The battery is not secure properly to the floor. Anyone have an idea how to secure it?

The replacement is too small, too short, etc?
We need details...

There are a half dozen brands of non-oe batteries out there
that fit perfectly; how did you pick one that doesn't fit?

the battery is exactly the same size but it's missing a tab that sticks out of the bottom right (looking from the rear of the car ) so the bracket can grab on to it.

Do you mean the injection molder case "foot", like the batts in my photo?
Don't understand how it could be missing...I'm thinking, and there are some
very smart people on this Board. Someone will have a good idea.

Yes, exactly, I think the battery should be rotated so the terminals are towards the front of the car. As you can see the black and white are mirror image of each other where the "foot" or rather "toe" is concern. So when I put the new battery in the "toe" is now on the left side where the OEM is on the right side.

Ah, that pair of batts is lined up identically, not mirrored...
but you are correct: the terminals go toward the Front of Car!
Should snug down, now.

Interstate batteries fit perfect for both the 3.0 and 4.4. They are manufactured by Johnson and you can get a great price from Sam's Club.
