HiD Fogs..Install Prob.Cancellor Explode

HI,
I received the kit from DDM. Pretty straight forward plug it all up on the passenger side to try n see.. Went inside to turn the car over, no luck with the fogs doesn't turn on! I walked to the front grabed the fog unit on the floor and BANG the cancellor just exploded almost in my face whole garage was stinky/burnt smell... i can still smell it on me

I tried without the cancellors and nothing still it doesnt light up!

I will try the other side and see if i have any luck. I have to call DDM and get a new one shipped and tell them WTF about the explotion

Stinky explosion is most likely due to an electrolytic capacitor exploding, normally due to being connected with opposite polarity. It smells like rotten fish and it makes a big bang. (I remember this from working on prototype electronic boards where the engineer had mistakenly put the cap in wrong.)

Did you by any chance get the polarity wrong when making your connections?

Personally DDM produects suck balls !!! I have had nothing but issues with my parts I bought from them. Return everything and get your money back. Cancellors exploded as well. Its when you installed them they have to be installed reverse. I had the same issue fogs wont light without the cancellors. I just bought new ones myself and words just fine now. Bought the angel eye kit burnt out within a month. Garbage products but you get what you pay for I guess. Will be uninstalling the pedals I also bought I want nothing from them in my truck !!

My cancellors did not. In actual fact the colour that you would think are suppose to match up when connecting them are opposite. Who would create something like that. Bunch of pylons at DDM.

Update: Well I did get the one side working. I had to snip off some plastic inside the connector to reverse it on the OEM housing! no instuctions no nothing. I thought it was a simple plug n play. Hopefully they send me a new Cancellor cause this was just the hardest plug n play install ive had!

From DDM: Warning: "Some vehicles may have reverse polarity. Reverse polarity can cause a BOW to explode. We recommend wearing safety glasses and closing your hood before testing the BOW on your vehicle."

there is only one way the cancellors can go in, as there is a notch for it. the problem isn't there, its on the connection to the stock oem housing. ddm harness has to be sniped and then reversed n pluged in, then it works!
