Tune-Up - Will there be a noticable difference?
I'm getting the following work done tomorrow by my indy with parts I sourced from a good on-line parts company: Spark Plugs (NGK BKR6EQUP) O2 Sensors (Bosch, pre-cat) Valve cover gaskets Brake line flush Plus I put in an air filter today. The old one literally had chunks of dirt come out of it when I looked at it last week. I got the chunks out (literally a pile of dirt) and put it back in until I was able to get a new one today. Am I going to have any noticable difference when driving after this service? BTW, it has 140K KM's on it (88K Miles) I'm going to do the oil seperator and hoses next. From what I've read it's time and while I don't normally park my vehicle outside, I don't want the wife and baby to get stuck anywhere.

The spark plugs should help considerably, especially at that milage. The new air filter was a good idea you should have felt more power immediately.

If the previous owner didn't even change the air filter chances are the coolant hasn't been changes in a while as well.

You're right about the coolant, I'm not sure how often it should be changed though. I'll dig through the board to see what others have said on that.
A coolant story for you.... when I had my '95 540i, my auxilary pump went (the plastic connection corroded) and all my coolant dumped out. Anyways, I spent as much on blue coolant as I did on getting a new pump. Beign my first beamer, I had liquid sticker shock! I could not believe the cost of it.

BMW coolant is once every 4 year. Brake fluid flush is every 2 year.

I noticed a discernable difference in pickup and performance. My X5 is awesome.
