I can see using a "bag ass" mallet to get one in. I would not use a "big ass" anything to get it out if I were removing it using the pry method.

True, I was commenting on you saying it was loose when you put it back on. Maybe a BMW brand big ass rubber mallet would have gotten it tighter?
