Changing the name of the link to "Here you Go"
May be misunderstood as well.....

I disagree with the procedure posted.

I replaced mine using the posted instructions today. As I was doing it, I come to the conclusion that this is a very easy way to damage your paint.

Mine, was VERY tightly secured in the gromets and I had to use a bit of pressure to lever it out. But because there is nothing more than the gromets holding the emblem in place, instead of prying on your paint, I recommend that you lift the hood and push on the individual pins (you can see them in this underside photo of the hood) until they are free of the gromets. (Yes, I know this was posted in the other links.)

When putting the new emblem on, I noticed that it was nowhere near as tight as the original so I put some rtv on the shafts to "tighten it up a bit."

When the RTV has cured 24 hours from now, I will see if it is any tighter.

The factory tour guy told me that they use a big ass rubber mallet and pound it into the hood during the last step of production. Maybe you were too gentle with it?
