Does anyone know what this is

I attached a picture to this message, it came in the UPS box when I ordered my AUX input adapter which I already installed and works flawlessly.

I assume its a BMW part since it came from a BMW dealer however I have no idea what it is used for and if it is any use to anyone here.

From what is written on the cable, it is a CAT5e UTP 4 pair data cable with 24AWG copper thickness, but the connectors at each side look very strange.. such cable is used in computer networks.

there was no description, it's as if it was put in the box by mistake. It was not in a package nor was it labeled. Yes, it is UTP wire but the one end has a 10 pin connector and the other end is sealed with a small pcb board and a chip on it.
