ignition misfire

today when starting my x i notice that the idleing was rough. It sound ed like it was going up and down.WHEN Taking off it hesitated, at one point it shout off at the stop sign.so then my check engine light came on. SO i took out my ODB2 and check for the problem, it read IGNITION MISFIRE I really dont know if this is the problem because the rough idle been going on for a couple of days now. just when it shout off the code came up .Can anybody help me with this matter and help me fix this THANKS

It is most likely one of the coils... if you have a few tools and some time, pull the code telling you which cylinder it is. (important to know which cylinder it is) Swap the coil with another cylinder, clear the faults. Drive until light comes back on. If the missfire fault followed the coil to the other cylinder, that's the problem. If it stayed in the original cylinder it is either a spark plug or injector, and more parts swapping can narrow it down to which.

Ignition Misfire - Air Intake Actuator

I ran into very similar situation, the tell tale was listening to the engine with the hood up to listen for a vacuum sucking noise... this lead to the Air Intake Actuator that was damaged...

For me a simple fix with a #10 woodscrew through from the backside up into the paddle (simply removing snap off cover) saved me >$200.
