Does it determine this mechanically, somehow measuring resistance through a wheel speed sensor vs throttle inout, or is it basing it's intervals off calculated miles driven, driving style, etc like the oil service?

Castro SAF-XJ Differential Fluid
I have been advised by many BMW dealers in bay area -SF/SJ that I don't really need to change diff.fluid for my 06 X5 4.4. The fluid is life time. I understand that it has to be Castro SAF-XJ. I know it is hard to find it. I also come across at amazon.com with searching on SAF-XJ.
Any suggestions to buy SAF-XJ? Thanks |

Well, you don't really need to change it, but if you want to, it isn't a bad idea, and as long as you use the correct fluid there is little downside to doing so.
