Gasket sealer

Doing a transmission fluid change this week, a first. The OEM ZF 5HP died at 75k and this one is a 5 year old remanufactured unit. I’ve bought the FCP kit including a new gasket. Does anyone use a sealer like Permatex High Tack, etc. for the pan and gasket?

Thanks for the feedback, no sealant it is then.

I’ve read all the threads and discussions about changing versus not changing the fluid. Since my transmission has under 20k on it since remanufacture I think it’s a probably good habit to get in to. It’s being asked to handle roughly 40 fl lbs more torque from the 4.6 than the 4.4, so fresh fluid often might prolong it’s life.

Yes, fresh fluid regularly is good. Fresh fluid in an old transmission is where it gets risky.
