Engine shuts down
I've noticed a very weird problem on my X5 2002 with 82000 miles on it. It happened 3 or 4 times, that when i brake and accelerate to take off again, the engine shuts down completely. No warning lamps are lit to give me notice about the shutdown. When i start the car, it starts again in 1 time. Can somebody help me out with this problem or some advice? Thank you very much in advance! |

Could possibly be a cam sensor intermittently cutting out, making it lose ignition timing and stall. If that is the case it will eventually cause a fault code to store.

Has the MAF ever been replaced? If not, you might want to have the codes read at the dealer, it could be causing the problem

Sounds like something that happened to me. Some of the guys recommended me to replace my alternator.
