Engine shuts down

Hi guys,

I've noticed a very weird problem on my X5 2002 with 82000 miles on it.
It happened 3 or 4 times, that when i brake and accelerate to take off again, the engine shuts down completely. No warning lamps are lit to give me notice about the shutdown. When i start the car, it starts again in 1 time.
Can somebody help me out with this problem or some advice?

Thank you very much in advance!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Could possibly be a cam sensor intermittently cutting out, making it lose ignition timing and stall. If that is the case it will eventually cause a fault code to store.

Has the MAF ever been replaced? If not, you might want to have the codes read at the dealer, it could be causing the problem
