LED's are good if you know how to install them. I've seen them on a couple of X5's on the road so it's doable. I tried it but my X5 computer won't accept them so I returned it. Good luck!

Yeah, I read and saw so many people having issues with LED taillights and I decided at the time (1yr ago almost) i didn't want to bother with them. But i really like the ones i got now and they look great. They have definitely updated the rear look of the car.

Hi,

have these since some weeks. They were plug and play and did not throw an error and I would buy them again. They are from Amazon.

Regards, H

Very nice Artman...keeps the reverse lights in the same place, no funny lines making them look like mismatched tail and tailgate lights, and the corners are clearer and brighter. I still keep hoping someone will release a CELIS type taillight setup for the X5, but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Why didn't you go with LED tail lights?

LED's have a tendancy to cause OBC error messages, plus when they're used as blinkers, even with resistors, they still flash randomly because the LKM is sending out a pulse to check the bulbs. Unless you can find someone to code your LKM to stop checking the bulbs, you'll have this problem like I did with a customers car. With normal halogens, the bulbs simply don't react fast enough, so we never see this...even with resistors, LED's show it no matter what.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
James, have you thought about putting small capacitors in line in place of resistors? I was thinking about that and it seems it might solve both the OBC error as well as the flashing with the bulb check... might be worth a try.
