Bulb Warning

Does anybody know what method the LCM uses to detect if the bulb is burnt out, I presume its by measuring resistance but not sure, the reason I am asking is I have rewired my Angel Eyes using a seperate harness that breaks the original circuit and that causes "check side lights" warning message. I am planning on simulating the bulb with a resistor if thats whats required any help will be appriciated.

I decided to try utilizing a resistor in the original system to simulate the bulb and after numerous resistor trials i came up with a 200 Ohm resistor that did not trigger the error message. It also was marginally warm to the touch so no special heat sink resistors were required, just heat shrink the complete assy.
