Did you get the "offroad" rear flaps? They look much nicer than the "regular" ones that I got, which have the inner edge carved => Xoutpost.com - View Single Post - Feels like I'm limping

Yep, those are the "offroad" mud flaps. realchef has some better pictures than mine, but we have the same kind. I never understood why the regular ones had the inner edge cut out, as debris would get past the flap that way and defeat the whole purpose of a mud flap.
And to address the exhaust issue, it may happen but not likely. One of the exhaust trim covers fell off one day since it was already damaged. We decided to take the other off and now you see that huge gap when viewing the exhaust at eye level. The most I would do to the exhaust is go to an exhaust shop to have the resonators removed and have straight pipes installed, then also have them weld on some cheap Pep Boys Y-pipes. It is only a 3.0i, so I'll never get a great growl so I'll try and go for a "purr" instead.

I like the idea of front guard protection via these little flaps, well done.
Out here in Oz all 4 x 4's are mandated to have rear mud flaps, probably something to do with flinging stones and what have you at following vehicles. Fortunately we all (X5 owners) get the proper off road version. How weird of BMW to have a rear flap that only does half a job, hmmm. Minz, new grill looks great.

Front Mud Flap Part Numbers
Ahhh...I finally figured it out
![]() The "sills" referred to in the part database for the front mud flaps breaks down between the regular door sills and the aluminum "footplate" door sills. So the part nbr breakdown for the FRONT mud flaps are:
