Need help with HID's

I installed an HID conversion kit into my 2006 3.0i that I got from hidextra.com. Every so often the lights will flicker out and give me a "check lowbeam lights" error code. This doesn't happen very often, but it does happen. Do I need to install a resistor pack like the one that EAS sells? I am also planning to convert my fogs to HID's, will I need to install resisitor packs for those too? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response. Should I just use the relay harness from Diode Dynamics? Where would it be connected to? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm kinda new to this stuff.

You need this harness it will take car your problem.HID-205 > HID Xenon Fuse Gold Truck Relay Harness Wire - HIDNY.COM HID Xenon Conversion Kit & Auto Lights, Parts from NYC

Just an FYI ... Buy the HID kit with digital ballasts kit .... it will cancel out all the error code/check lights warning.

Is this the only harness that I need? Or do I also need to get this

HID-203 > HID Warning light Canceller & Capacitor - HIDNY.COM HID Xenon Conversion Kit & Auto Lights, Parts from NYC

And if I get the kit with the digital ballasts, I won't need the relay or the other harness?

Thanks

Contact them again and tell them you need the resistors. I did the same thing and they sent them for free. I thought I had changed my posts saying to make sure to ask for them. I you don't mind, let me know which thread you read it from so I can edit it so others don't make the same mistake. Did you use the coupon code that I used?

The kit I have is digital ballasts, but it still happens. I had it happen once where they flashed like strobes on startup, but after cycling the foglight switch, it was fine. I contacted HID extra since I was also under the belief that the digital ballasts should have prevented this, but they told me I'm going to need their free resistors regardless.

Also, those cheesy gold resistors that you posted get terribly hot. I've had to use the exact same resistors in my friends LED taillight conversion, and they say specificallly that they will get extremely hot. I would imagine the HIDextra resistors would got hot also, but they're totally encapsulated.

Thanks for all the replies.

I am not sure which post I saw the reference to hidextra.com. One more question, will I still need to use relays after I get the reisistors?

I did a search for hidextra.com and changed the information so people will know in the future to ask for their free resistors. Did you get a hold of them so they'll send them to you? I'd maybe use relays in an angel eye installation based on which switched 12V source I tapped, but I don't see why you'd need that on headlights/foglights since you're using a pre-made 12V source. The HID's already use less power as is, so adding a relay while using factory wiring is just more work. I just plugged them in, mounted them and I was off and running. I put pics up of my install, but I can't paste the link right now since I'm replying from my phone.
