Replacing steering wheel

Hi all..

The leather on my 01 X5 steering wheel is peeling, and im considdering to replace it..

I have the sport type wheel as seen here http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...49/Image60.jpg ..

If i get a wheel as this one: BMW X3 E83 X5 E53 SPORTS Steering wheel - Heated !!!:eBay Motors (item 130347084296 end time Dec-04-09 09:15:18 PST)

Can i use the airbag from the old one.??

And if i buy a heated version, without having a eated from before, would i be able to use that feature without having to do too much work..?

Thanks..

airbag will not work, you will need one from 2004-06 x5 sport. heated element may not work without correct Air Bag Slip Ring.

no. you would need this wheel:
BMW M3 steering wheel X5 E46 E39 E53 E38 E83 - NEW OEM:eBay Motors (item 130343609046 end time Dec-10-09 06:03:56 PST)
just an easy swap. no additional parts needed.

If you get the M3 steering you won't have to buy another airbag, swap steering wheels and you're done. However, you won't have the heated function.

If you want the heated steering wheel, this link shows you the parts you need and how to retrofit.
