Hood sometimes opens, sometimes doesn't

So I pull the hood release latch the other day and the hood wouldn't open. It appears that the passenger side hood alignment pin is sticking.

Since I'm not scheduled to go in for service any time soon (it is a CPO vehicle), I thought I'd just fix it myself if I knew what to do. Edjumacate me please...

Loosen the two bolts, holding the pin, a bit. Just as much that pin moves when you push it. Not too loose! Close the hood. Open the hood carefully(!), you do not want the pin to move. Fasten the bolts tightly. Worked for me.

Thanks havi. I'll give that a try.

Was bored this evening and tried the method above, since my hood was sticking as well. Thanks a bunch! No more stuck hood.
