M54 3.0i Stainless Headers

Is this a bad idea? How would the engine management handle not having any cats? Can you program it to ignore the pre-cat O2 sensor?

e53 headers, great deals on eBay Motors on eBay!

I am just looking to tap a little bit more power.

If you have to deal w/ emissions then with headers there is no way to make it pass w/o setting off the readiness codes. If you dont have to deal w/ emissions then they will work fine w/ a tune (ask turner/AA to ignore the post cat signals). I tried o2 simulators as well and nothing works yet.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
I suggested in a PM reply to wally that you should be able to get away with magnaflow universal cats in place of the center silencer/resonator with some simple extension harnesses on the rear O2 sensors available from many places like jegs.com.
