BMW of Manhattan is a total Rip-off

Word of caution. Don't ever ever ever go to BMW of Manhattan Their spanish Asst Manager w/ a goatee of their parts dept gave me a price 95% above BMW's own suggested retail price a $30 dollar item and wanted to charge me $50.

Here's the real kicker, his reasoning was our costs are higher,WHAT. he said go to another BMW parts dept. Never go to BMW of Manh for parts, service. or dealer.

Anybody have any recommended parts shops online and repairs in tristate. Also post the ones that suck.

Not surprised...West 57th St. I can imagine the rent or taxes.
Midtown Manhattan: not much 'on sale'/cheap. I would think the only parts there are for warranty R&R on the masses of leased cars under warranty, or some guy stuck driving his wife's car in for the day, to get something fixed.

I realize it may be 'handy' for the OP, location-wise, but the net is your friend, as our some vendors that support this site.

ECS is bad. They told me they will ship an item out for me tmrw. Well 12 days later and the item is still not shipped. I think they lied and told me they actually had the item in stock when they didn't, just to have me order it and charge me. Shaddddy

First of All - Big surprise that BMW Manhattan is a ripoff. I used to live in Manhattan for a few years and it costs you to sneeze in that city. So, no big surprise there. You are not actually disparaging them because they want to be known for excessive charges, that's what it is all about in Midtown. Anyway, as other posters have already stated the net and this site are your friend. BAVauto has always done right by me. Absolutely sponsor those that sponsor the site first, but they are usually top notch.

Their excuse is their location is more which i don't buy, that is why they charge obscene prices for everything. Where not talking about a Hotdog stand, this is BMW a billion dollar company. Further, Lexus is accross the street, which i previously owned an RX, and they don't charge as BMW of Manh does.

This is correct. When pricing goods going into NYC you almost have to double the price. I worked for a builder for awhile. You could get concrete delivered (at that time) for $44/yard just about anywhere in the North East. In NYC It would be $88 to $120/Yard. Because of all the extra costs, difficulty etc etc This is a real phenomenon.

And what does the Spanish accent/speaking comment mean? My BMW mechanic has a heavy German accent, does that give the impression that he is smarter or dumber... it makes no difference? I've read your comment 4 or 5 times over the last 12 hrs to see if I still found it racist and even though you may not have intended it... To Me, it smacks of racism. Sorry.
