Or maybe you are racist for assuming that the OP is white and you think you deserve something for standing up to the man.

Maybe you did it unintentionally, but it sounded, to me, racist and I'm allowed an opinion of you.
So you are!

I have used them for service in the past. Generally a positive experience.

As far as parts, last time that I bought parts from them was several months ago. They had just shut down the retail parts counter in the basement. You had to tell the receptionist in the showroom what parts you wanted and she would phone them down to parts. Then you had to wait for someone to bring them upstairs. Predictably, the new system was not working well. I have not been back since.

At my dealer they charged me about a thousand to get my SE light off (on a 540i). I got the car back and was un-happy with how they ripped my seat. That pissed me off but what really pissed me off is how the light went back on 7 miles later. I took my car and let them have it. 4 days later I get a call that my car had been in a "fender bender" (actual words he used) on the lot. I showed up to check it out and the passenger side was virtually wrecked. They had to replace my door pannel and front fender and re-paint everything on that side. Then i went to pick it up the pant looked horrible and nothing lined up and the window did not work (not to mention how they pealed the tint off!). THis was my experience with the dealership in San Diego.

People have names (that would be a novel idea), you could also say "the asst. manager on duty"... he deserves to be regarded as more than the Spanish asst manager, I am particularly sensitive to how people refer to other people in this present day. To me this sort of thing dehumanizes people who work hard to do a good job.

To me it was equivalent to: the Spanish guy overcharged me or the Spanish guy dismissed my concern about price... get me a white guy, he might as well as said "you know how those people are". He is only following his employers policy why does his race matter?. and since he was Spanish he was easier to dismiss. If he was a white man or woman he would not have made that distinction.

Like I said in my first post it was probably unintended but, it sounded, to me, racist and I'm allowed an opinion.
NYC is a huge melting pot of cultures. It's a given that people will describe someone based on their nationality around here.

Anyway... back to the subject. I would rather make the extra drive to Hassel BMW in Freeport for any parts and service. I've bought parts from BMW of Bayside and their prices weren't all that bad too.

I'd rather hit up ECS for parts. And try to fix everything myself. That's the great thing about the forum.
