Milky Oil Fun

Alright. I've been reading a few things and would like to get a last opinion before I start buying parts.

Recently, my thermostat died. It sucked. Would stick either closed, or on a restart would stick open. I didn't run the vehicle long in closed as I pulled over and reset it as fast as I could. However, the vehicle did run in open status for quite a few 10 minute trips as I was figuring it out. I live in Minnesota. Its 10 Degrees outside. Reading a post on a similar issue, it seems that I may have had condensation build up and thats the milkiness that I'm finding under the cap and on the dipstick. As the thermostat now has been replaced, I'm curious if that was a one time thing and all I have to do is clean the engine from this gunk or if I need to replace a part thought to be failed. I've been reading up on the oil separator. I also have no clue how to clean the engine either. Any suggestions?

My idle is fine.
I see no excess smoke
Light milk under the cap and dipstick, but oil is fine and smooth
10* outside right now

A bit of "milky oil" under the oil cap can be condensation, but on the dipstick, its suspicious! When water does mix with oil ,your oil level goes up!Is your oil level normal?
If all is ok,then just take the car for a highway drive and check all again...
