lowering springs for 3.0 vs. 4.4

Are the FRONT springs the same for the 3.0 and 4.4? everywhere I look, they are not stating the differences. anyone know for sure?

how do you know?

every web site I have gone to has given me the same part number for both the 3.0 and 4.4. even Tirerack

29378.1 for h&r's

If the strut is the same part for the 3.0 as its for the 4.4 then i dont think the spring is an different. should be all the same. I dont see why the design of our x5 be diff. unless its with air susp.

If the 4.4 engine is heavier than the 3.0 engine, which I presume it would be, the standard 4.4 springs would be higher rated.

nope, checked with H&R and bilstein, parts are the same. I thought the same too...that the 4.4 would be heavier...
