Where is it leaking from? If you think it is low enough to need a top off it wouldn't be a bad idea to do a drain and fill with new fluid as that is one fluid BMW doesn't call lifetime. If it hasn't been done yet it is probably due soon anyways. (stored a fault in DSC for fluid wear)

I have the same issue no worries. Its a super slow leak but its soaked into the rubber mount and has soften it up. The levels are still fine after a month so its very slow leak. So when I fix it I will have to change the mount as well |

I would assume it is on one of the output shaft seals or something like that. I haven't been under one of the trucks to say for certain but on transfer cases, diffs and trans and such you will get leakage out of the shaft seals. It is just a rubber sleeve essentially and after being constantly heated and pulled and 'used' it may start leaking.
More than likely this is the issue but I can't say for certain as I haven't actually worked on one. As said 'where' is the leak?

There is no set time/mileage for the fluid change, just when the DSC registers it as needed. The DSC and VTG modules monitor the fluid indirectly through the actions of the clutches in the case, and stores a fault telling you the fluid change is due.

Im assuming the gasket that is not shown in the pics (sandwiched between the 2 halfs of the case) is the gasket that is leaking.
