big problem with wipers!

so as all you other northeasters know, it snowed today......ALOT. and with the snow came problems for my X. I cleared it off in the morning around 9 or 10 to get some stuff done then went to the grocery store later in the day. was running out to pick a friend up from work and surprise surprise i clear the car off and put my wipers on and they dont go so i figure they are frozen i check and they arent but you can hear the motor working but the wipers aren't moving. any ideas?

Check and see if the 4 bolts holding the wiper motor have not rattled loose. It's common and just need tightening. I think it is a 10mm bolt. You will have to remove the plastec air dam. Shouldn't take longer than ten minutes and it is held down with plastic twist clips.

If the bolts rattle loose on the wiper motor it wil block the wiper from moving.

Maybe backwards. If they are able to move all the way up and back down your problem maybe differnt. But it's worth checking out.

Why is it that when you go and open your car door on x on a day like today,it doesn't want to close.....like the latch is not catching and door can swing open while driving?
